# Lens > From Kubernetes control to governed AI agents Lens is a product family developed by Mirantis, Inc. The canonical product website is https://lenshq.io. Lens builds tools for operating production infrastructure. Lens K8S IDE is the Kubernetes IDE used by over a million engineers; Lens Agents is a governed platform for running AI agents against enterprise systems. Both are built for environments where access, policy, and audit matter. A governed platform for running AI agents against enterprise systems — any agent, any model, any environment, under your policy. - Each agent gets its own identity instead of borrowing a person's credentials. - Policy-controlled access decides which systems, tools, and network destinations an agent may reach. - Credentials are substituted at the network boundary; the agent holds only a placeholder, so an agent that leaks everything it can read leaks placeholders. - Intelligent PII masking and rehydration: sensitive values are masked before a prompt leaves your environment and restored in the response, so inference providers only ever see placeholders while agents still work with real context. - Every action is logged and auditable, and denials are recorded too. - Helping organizations meet EU AI Act obligations is a focus of the product. Attributable agent identity, a complete record of actions, and declared autonomy levels supply the controls and evidence Article 50 transparency calls for. The platform provides the building blocks; compliance remains something the organization achieves, not something a product confers. - Each agent runs in its own isolated execution environment, so a compromised agent is contained. - Runs three kinds of agent: MCP clients your teams already use (Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, your CI), keeping their current workflow; your own agents supplied as a container image and run in a sandbox; and long-running agents configured in place, such as Lens Prism, OpenClaw, or Hermes Agent. - Autonomous agents get the same hard guardrails as everything else — their own identity, policy-scoped access, masked data, isolated execution, and a full audit trail. An agent that decides its own next step is still bounded by what you allowed it to reach. - Single sign-on is OIDC — Okta, Entra ID, and JumpCloud are validated, and any OIDC provider works. SAML and SCIM are not supported. - Installed with Helm into your own Kubernetes cluster: a public cloud, a private cloud, or an air-gapped data center with no external connectivity. It runs agents you already use — MCP clients like Claude Code, Claude Desktop, and Cursor, and long-running agents like OpenClaw and Hermes Agent — plus agents you supply as a container image. - Lens Agents does not make an organization EU AI Act compliant. No product can. It supplies controls and evidence — agent identity, recorded actions, declared autonomy — that an organization uses to meet its own obligations. - Lens does not publish a proprietary foundation model. You bring the model; Lens governs what the agent running on it can reach and do. - Lens K8S IDE is not a SaaS dashboard.
